Supporting Great Ormond Street at the RBC Race for the Kids
Some events are simply a privilege to be part of, and the RBC Race for the Kids in Hyde Park is one of them. The event raises money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, and this year it raised around £900,000 for a hospital that does extraordinary work for children and families from all over the UK. We were proud to bring our bubbleology show to Hyde Park and add a little magic to the day.
Thousands of runners took on the 5k and 10k courses, many of them running for children who have been treated at Great Ormond Street. Families, friends and supporters lined the route and filled the event village, and our job was to keep the atmosphere bright and fun for everyone, especially the children waiting for mum, dad or a big brother or sister to cross the finish line.
Bubbles in Hyde Park
Our bubble artists worked across the event village, creating giant bubbles that floated over the crowds and drifted across the park. Children chased them, popped them and tried to catch them, and plenty of runners stopped for a photo with a bubble on their way to collect their medals. A wide open space like Hyde Park is perfect for bubbles, giving them room to grow and travel.
The response was wonderful. Families who had come to cheer on a runner found something to enjoy while they waited, and children who had been patient for a long time had a chance to let off steam. Bubbles are gentle, visual and inclusive, which made them a great fit for an event where some of the children taking part have spent a lot of time in hospital.
Why Charity Events Matter to Us
We started out as a community organisation and charitable work is still a big part of who we are. Over the years we have visited children’s centres and social projects around the world, run workshops in Morocco, India and Argentina, and supported charity fun days across the UK. We have also visited Great Ormond Street Hospital itself, and we know how much a bit of fun can mean to children and families going through a difficult time.
Being part of the Race for the Kids felt like a chance to give something back. We have nothing but admiration for everyone who ran, volunteered and donated.

- Stiltwalkers to welcome participants and create a carnival feel.

Working at Large Public Events
Big events need entertainers who can work alongside event managers, safety teams and stewards. Our performers are experienced at large-scale events, including festivals such as Glastonbury Kidz Field and WOMAD. We are fully insured, we arrive on time, and we fit around the event schedule, whether that means pausing for a race start or moving to a different area as the crowd shifts.
A Day That Stayed With Us
What stays with us most from Hyde Park is the families. Many were running in memory of a child, or in thanks for treatment that changed their lives, and the atmosphere was a mix of emotion, pride and celebration. Seeing children laughing as they chased bubbles across the grass, while their families shared stories nearby, was a reminder of why events like this matter so much.
