Amazing Bubble Moment at Feasty Fest

A Giant Bubble Moment at Feasty Fest

Every so often a photo captures exactly why we do what we do. This one, taken at Feasty Fest, is one of those. A giant bubble rising above the crowd, children reaching up towards it and faces full of wonder. It is a simple moment, but it sums up the joy that bubbles bring to any event.

Feasty Fest is a family food festival with a friendly, relaxed feel, and it was a perfect setting for our bubble artists. Between the food stalls, music and activities, our performers worked their way around the site creating bubbles of every size, from clouds of tiny ones for toddlers to chase to huge, wobbling tubes that stretched across the field.

Why Food Festivals Love Bubbles

Food festivals attract families, and families need entertainment while they queue, eat and relax. Giant bubbles are ideal because they:

  • Keep children happy while parents grab food and drink.
  • Move around the site, so every area of the festival gets a bit of magic.
  • Draw people in, with bubbles visible from right across the field.
  • Need very little set-up, so they fit around stalls and seating areas.
  • Create great photos that festival organisers can use in their marketing.

The Art of Giant Bubbles

Making giant bubbles takes more skill than it looks. Our bubble artists use specially made mixes, wands and rope frames, and they constantly read the wind to decide where to stand and how big to go. On a still day we can create enormous bubbles that hang in the air; on a breezy day we use the wind to send long chains of bubbles drifting over the crowd.

We also adapt for the audience. With very young children we work low to the ground, making bubbles they can touch and pop. With older children we might show them how to make their own, and with adults we save the biggest, most dramatic bubbles for the moments when everyone is watching.

Bubbles on Stilts

For festivals that want something extra, our bubble stiltwalkers combine two of our most popular acts. Standing tall above the crowd in colourful costumes, they create bubbles from a height, which means the bubbles travel further and can be seen from all over the site. Bubble stiltwalkers are always one of the most photographed parts of any festival.

More Than Bubbles

As well as giant bubbles, we bring circus skills workshops, stiltwalkers, LED glow performers and fire shows to festivals across the UK. Many festivals book a mix of acts across the day, with bubbles and workshops in the afternoon and LED or fire performance in the evening. We have performed at events including Glastonbury Kidz Field, WOMAD and the Royal International Air Tattoo, as well as countless local festivals and fun days.

What Families Said

One of the best things about working at a food festival is how long people stay. Families who stopped to watch the bubbles for a minute often ended up spending half an hour with us, with children taking turns to try the smaller wands and parents snapping photos between bites of lunch. A few of the children came back again and again throughout the day, each time a little braver about reaching for the biggest bubbles.

Organisers noticed it too. Having roaming entertainment meant the quieter corners of the site felt as lively as the busy areas near the stage, and the bubbles helped guide people towards stalls they might otherwise have missed. For a festival built around food and community, that kind of gentle, moving entertainment fits perfectly.

Festival Planning Tips

If you are planning a family festival, think about where children will naturally gather: near food, near the stage and around seating areas. That is where roaming bubble artists and stiltwalkers have the most impact. It also helps to give performers a base where they can store kit and refill bubble mix, ideally close to the main family area.

Festival FAQs

How many performers do we need?

For a small festival one or two performers is usually enough. Larger events often book a team so there is always something happening.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We always have a plan B, from moving under cover to switching to indoor-friendly acts.

Thank you to the Feasty Fest team for having us. It was a brilliant day, the food smelled amazing all afternoon, and we came away with some of our favourite bubble photos of the whole year. We cannot wait to see what next year’s festival brings.

If you run a food festival, street food market or family event, giant bubbles are one of the easiest ways to add atmosphere without taking up much space.
